(Tallahassee, FL.) -- Law Enforcement Officers with the Leon County Sheriff’s Office, Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested 18 year-old Phillip Haynes, of Tallahassee, on charges of possessing child pornography. Members of the North Florida Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force served a search warrant on Haynes residence at 1701 Burgandy Boulevard Friday morning.

Leon County Sheriff Larry Campbell said the investigation that led to the arrest was part of Operation Predator, a nationwide ICE initiative to identify, investigate and arrest those who prey on children.

During a search of Haynes’ residence officers recovered a computer which had files containing images of young children engaged in various sexual performance. The investigation established that Phillip Haynes lived at the home and owned the computer containing the pornography and that he frequently uses the internet to view video and images of children who are being sexually abused.

Haynes is charged with six (6) counts of Possessing Images of Child Sexual Performance, a 3rd degree felony. If convicted, Haynes could face up to 30 years in prison.

Suspected child sexual exploitation or missing children may be reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, an Operation Predator partner, at 1-800-843-5678.
