Open your eyes and see the real truth

When you are in the heat of the moment, sometimes you cannot see clearly. During those times, you need others to pray that God will open your spiritual eyes so you can understand what the Lord wants you to see. This is what happened to Elisha in 2 Kings 6.

"When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. “Oh no, my lord! What shall we do?” the servant asked.

“Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”

And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

As the enemy came down toward him, Elisha prayed to the Lord, “Strike this army with blindness.”So he struck them with blindness, as Elisha had asked" (2 Kings 6:15-18).

Here is a poetic interpretation of overcoming spiritual blindness

He peeled back pain from my eyes

Like it was an adhesive covered with

The back part of truth.

And through the river of tears, I was finally able to see his love for me.

My spirit, there on bended knees, saw his love like rose petals descending on me.

I felt that love like a warm summer breeze, and I believed I’d be okay.

Then I saw him lift me, and I stood on trembling feet.

And He miraculously transforms each teardrop into one large diamond pillar for me to lean on.

Right before my eyes, I saw my tears turn into a glorious diamond column to support me.

It glistened behind me like stars in the heavens and when I turned to behold the soul of my tears, I saw the other side of truth.

I saw my emotions cleaned and dignified.

I saw my health resurrected to the peak of a mountain.

I watched as money like leaves encircled my feet like a garland.

I saw my children with the Word in their hands like a sword and demons slain at their feet.

I saw my marriage lifted like a flag.

I saw my dream pushing through the womb of determination and I smile.

Seeing my tears in a new form changed my perspective and I exhaled slowly…

On the other side of truth, I saw the real truth.

I saw my confidence ascending on the back of hope, perpendicular like a bronze sculpture until my courage was elevated.

On the other side of truth, time bowed at the name of Jesus, just to reveal to me the real truth about pain.

That pain is the thin mask of power, change, hope, and blessings.
