A Daily Word from the Word for Wednesday, February 19, 2014

“Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days.” – Daniel 6:10

Let us do what Daniel did, and make prayer and thanksgiving a regular part of our day. Prayer, in the form of praise, worship, and thanksgiving, should be the fabric that we use to weave each of our days. I would even suggest having a prayer window, as Daniel did. I have one. Perhaps you are not in a place which has a window to access for this purpose; so make one out of cardboard or paper material and hang it up on a desired wall. The most important window to be open and pointed toward the Lord is the window of our heart.

The Lord has put in my spirit to have us focus on Psalm 51. Our Holy Father desires for us to open this verse, modeling Daniel’s method of prayer and thanksgiving for this purpose; and to incorporate Psalm 51 into this day.

What “writing” do you need to be signed, undone, or over-written this day, my brother? What decree do you need to be issued right now, my sister? This is a most unusual day, starting and ending with a most unusual Daily Word revelation and instruction with which to crown this signature event. I cannot be specific, as the specifics are left up to your individual petitions before the Lord; however, I can tell you that this instruction will be a key to your petition.

Here is what the Lord is requiring from each of us this day: Petition the Lord with Psalm 51 today—morning, noon, and night. Read aloud, and listen to what your Heavenly Father has to say to you throughout the day. For some of you, God will give you the confirmation you have been seeking; for others, you will feel the peace of God that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7); yet for some, you will experience the love of God for the first time or in a new way; and even more for some, you will receive the guidance, direction, or strategies that you have been seeking from the Great ‘I AM.’ (Exodus 3:14). Trust God with your heart, because He is a loyal and faithful Father Who will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5).

Psalm 51

Have mercy upon me, O God,
According to Your lovingkindness;
According to the multitude of Your tender mercies,
Blot out my transgressions.
Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity,
And cleanse me from my sin.

For I acknowledge my transgressions,
And my sin is always before me.
Against You, You only, have I sinned,
And done this evil in Your sight—
That You may be found just when You speak,
And blameless when You judge.

Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity,
And in sin my mother conceived me.
Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts,
And in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom.

Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean;
Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
Make me hear joy and gladness,
That the bones You have broken may rejoice.
Hide Your face from my sins,
And blot out all my iniquities.

Create in me a clean heart, O God,
And renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Do not cast me away from Your presence,
And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.

Restore to me the joy of Your salvation,
And uphold me by Your generous Spirit.
Then I will teach transgressors Your ways,
And sinners shall be converted to You.

Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God,
The God of my salvation,
And my tongue shall sing aloud of Your righteousness.
O Lord, open my lips,
And my mouth shall show forth Your praise.
For You do not desire sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You do not delight in burnt offering.
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit,
A broken and a contrite heart—
These, O God, You will not despise.

Do good in Your good pleasure to Zion;
Build the walls of Jerusalem.
Then You shall be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness,
With burnt offering and whole burnt offering;
Then they shall offer bulls on Your altar.

Father, thank You for giving us boldness, through Your Son Jesus Christ, to come before Your throne of grace to receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need (Hebrews 14:6). Help us to Trust in You with all of our heart and lean not on our own understanding; in all our ways submit to You, and You will make our paths straight (Proverbs 3:5-6). In Jesus Name, we thank You that we are now filled with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and for making a way out of no way for us. Amen and Amen.

Take action! Challenge your thinking! Choose to inquire of the Lord each day. Choose to believe that because you inquire of the Lord, you acquire from Your Most Holy and Generous Father. Make a conscious decision to seek the Will of your God each and every day. And continue to fight the good fight of receiving a clean heart and a steadfast spirit; for God, your Mercy-made-new-each-morning, has already given you the victory!

If you have never received Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, I encourage you to do it today, right now, by saying this prayer out loud: “Jesus, forgive me for my sins. I am sorry. I truly desire to be saved and reconciled back to God, my Father, through You. I receive Your sinless Blood as payment in full for my sins—past, present, and future. I now call You my Lord and Savior, and invite You to live within my heart, and to permanently live within me. I make You Lord over me and over my life from this moment on. Amen.” Congratulations! You are now a child of God, made whole and made new, by the Blood of Jesus Christ!

God tells us that we are blessed to be a blessing (Genesis 12:2). Be a blessing to someone by sending them this word of encouragement. If God did not already put someone in your spirit and on your heart that needs to read this uplifting message from above, simply ask your Heavenly Father who to bless on today. Forward this message right now by email, facebook, or twitter.

Jesus is coming soon!

May God Bless you and keep you always.

With warmest regards,

And, in service of The Most High King,

Matthew
