Your LA Travel Diva dines out frequently for both personal pleasure and restaurant reviews. One of my best finds was Open Table (www.opentable.com)--a web site that not only makes your reservations but rewards you for dining out with points to redeem toward meals.
I have no affiliation with OpenTable except as a user, they've never afforded me extra privileges etc., this is purely my opinion after using their resources for two years now. My husband and I are both members and are usually treated as VIPs at every restaurant where thanks to Open Table we get great tables (because we dine out alot and use the service, not because we're writers).
