Open Letter to: Dr. James Hansen (NASA GISS)
On January 22, 2010 you published a statement: “2009: Second warmest year on record” .
As we all know, the global average surface temperature is a sum of two quantities. One is the so-called effective temperature, determined by the available incoming energy (depending on the solar constant, planetary albedo (reflectivity) and internal heat sources as ocean-atmosphere heat exchange, industrial heat generation and so on), now about 255 Kelvin or minus 18 Celsius. The other is the greenhouse temperature, coming from the presence of infrared-active gases (H2O, CO2, methane, ozone, etc.) and clouds in the atmosphere, generally accepted as about 33 degrees Celsius. These two give up the known 288 K (+15 C) global average surface temperature.
Would you be so kind as to produce a separation of your temperature data, year by year, into the above mentioned two parts? This would show us whether Global Warming is happening in the effective, or in the greenhouse part of the global temperature.
The results of Dr Ferenc Miskolczi, former NASA Langley Research Center senior research scientist, stated that the observed warming is happening in the effective temperature, while the greenhouse addition fluctuates around its 33C equilibrium value, showing no growing trend in the past half century.
The opportunity for such a project is given, as the White House said NASA will be directed to concentrate on Earth-science projects — principally, researching and monitoring climate change. We suggest here not to research and monitor the conventional climate change issue, but greenhouse effect itself.

I don't blame you for questioning this, integrity in journalism is woefully lacking.

On your specific questions:
1) this is a letter to Dr. James Hansen, and atmospheric scientists, he is stating something known to them.
2) Global Average SURFACE temperature is what the AGW crowd is relying on. It does NOT accurately describe the global climate. Every prediction it has made has failed. There is also the issue of the temperature stations and readings going back 60 to 80 years and changes made in that time period. Jeff, that article has been written by another examiner. I am not going to steal their thunder. This article relates to ALL of our civil rights. The government is using the Global Warming Hoax, and relying on NASA's reputation to back the hoax in order to force unconstitutional legislation upon Americans, essentially taxing us for the air we breathe.
Our civil rights get violated when the government over-reaches itself. Be it by the Police, or by federal taxation of a gas that cannot effect or affect Global climate. Our civil rights get violated every time the government takes even the littlest bit of our freedom (or money) from us.

Are Dr. Zagoni (and you)asking Dr. Hansen to:
1. share individual data (effective temperature data and greenhouse temperature data)
2. And it is then you assertion that this: is OR is-not the data used in Dr. Hansen in the January statement you cite in your letter.
3. Is this data that you have and could share? Is there a research source that compiles this data?
4. Is this the only pertinent data for the study of global climate conditions and trends

Since I'm the only one in this thread who mentioned New World Order I'll assume one of your posts was for me. Where did I mention any biblical reference? But since you asked (kind of) I referenced Newsweek, Time, NY Times, George Bush 1, Obama, and countless other sources who have called for a NWO. I don't agree with how the MSM reports on the globalists activities, but they do report on them. You would have to be the most naive person on the planet not to have heard about it.
Global Warming is a stupid plot to control everything on Earth since the UN is trying to control CO2 which we breath out with every breath. It is all about economics (carbon credits) and control (one child policies, rationing of energy).
The so called scientists have used anything but scientific methods to try and prove their points. Seemingly every day another of their hoaxes is being exposed. If you truly want to find the truth just 'follow the money'.
those are some awfully broad brusheed assertions painted with omly a few primary colors. Here is the problem. You say follow the money. I'm sorry but I like a picture that has amazing detail and that tells a comprehendable story. I believe in the scientific method. I also believe that most scientists do as well. While ther are some rogues out there that can give amunition to nay-sayers in every profession I haven't seen any evidence that comes close to supporting the conspiracy alleged. This conspiracy would be of epic proportion. Beyond the 9/11's, the Pentagon being blown-up from the inside, and Obama being transported as an infant from Kenya so he could be President some scores of year later. But the NWO conpiracists just stand back and throw hear-say level evidence around and cite old cliche' draw suspicion lines like "follow the money". So, since you brought it up; please present me some easy to follow track of the "money" trail.
I do give Dianna much credit, for she obviously does extensive work in offering evidence to her conclusions. From my viewpoint I need more. From the many sources I have explored I haven't seen anywhere near enough evidence to proclaim it a hoax. In fact, I really haven't seen any tangible evidence that supports that conspiracy. The CRU emails provided enough controversy that the hoax-crowd enjoyed a "reasonable doubt" moment. But, at the end of the day there was no evidense of phony or falsified data. So, like any objective scientist you analyze existing data and seek additional trying to refute as well as support any theories or conclusions. In science, there is always a door left open to the discovery of new findings that can modify even what appears to be proven (i.e. the speed of light is still being studied) I think as more data and evidence becomes available the facts will lead to an appropriate response.
Read the Copenhagen treaty. Read Holdren's (Obama's science czar) book Eco Science. Google "Georgia Guidestones", "carbon trading credits", "IMF World Bank", "Al Gore and Ken lay invent carbon trade", or any applicable words. But most of all proofread your posts, they are borderline illiterate.

Apparently Peege hasn't actually READ any of the Climategate emails, nor has he/she been following the aftermath which includes:
The head of the IPCC publishing a softcore Porn book, as well as several "conflict of interest" issues with statements made by the IPCC and a private company he runs.
After years of Alarmists screaming that sceptics MUST publish peer reviewed papers, it is revealed (Through Climategate) that the vaunted peer-review process has been hijacked by a political agenda supported by a cadre of top Climate Scientists and their propaganda website Realclimate. It has ALSO been discovered that the IPCC AR4 is absolutely ~RIDDLED~ with Enviro-activist opinion papers and various and sundry non peer-reviewed papers, icluding the "scientific" citing of a PHONE CONVERSATION as peer-reviewed science.
Then of course there's Africagate, Brazilgate, Himalayagate, etc... the list goes on and on.

Dianna, As a Brit', I don't wish to take sides in another American Civil War, but I do find Dr Ferenc Miskolczi's paper to be very convincing and I will always remember his atmospheric temperature constant: TauA = 1.868. As for the above heated debate, all that you have done is ask Dr James Hanson a straightforward and very relevant question, that goes to the heart of the GW debate: what is the energy balance between external, internal and greenhouse generated heat sources? After 40 years or more of studying and promoting GW, he surley should be able to give a speedy and precise response. If not, why is he President Obama's right-hand man on this subject? Regards, Bob
I guess my question is; Is Dr. Hansen and NASA GISS the only entities that "trend" such data. If such data is primary to the GW issue, surely other research entities collect, track and log the information.
