On Saturday, May 8, for the Ohio Poetry Association’s quarterly meeting, Richard Hague will be the featured poet and workshop leader.
The OPA’s business meeting will be taking place from 10-11am, during which the new officers will be installed. Following the business meeting, Hague will present a reading of his own work, as well as a workshop and writing exercises in the afternoon. A complete schedule of the day can be found here.
Hague hails from Cincinnati, where he’s been an educator for over 40 years. Although a graduate of Xavier University in Cincinnati, he also studied at Oxford. Among the many honors he’s received, he won three Ohio Arts Council Individual Artists Fellowships in two genres. A prolific writer and publisher, he has released many chapbooks and full-length collections, the most recent of which is Lives of the Poem. Hague has also published over 300 poems in countless journals, reviews, and magazines.
The meeting will be taking place at Areopagitica Bookstore (3510 North High Street, Columbus, OH 43214), and although those who expected to attend are asked to register ahead of time, walk-ins are welcome. For additional information about this OPA workshop and future events, visit their website.
