Ooze Flux from 'Gatecrash' revealed (Photos)

Ooze Flux is one of the newest "Magic: The Gathering" cards spoiled today Jan. 14, 2013 from Wizards of the Coast's upcoming expert expansion set "Gatecrash." Revealed in an article by Mike Cannon on MagicTheGathering.com, Ooze Flux gives Scavenge decks a way of transforming excess +1/+1 counters into additional threats.

Ooze Flux - 3G
Enchantment (Rare)
1G, Remove one or more +1/+1 counters from among creatures you control: Put an X/X green Ooze creature token onto the battlefield, where X is the number of +1/+1 counters removed this way.

Because Ooze Flux doesn't have to be activated as a sorcery like other powerful green cards we've recently seen (Birthing Pod and Ooze Garden), you'll be able to respond to combat tricks or removal spells by creating creatures.

Cannon points out that Ooze Flux can be particularly powerful when combined with cards that put a +1/+1 counter on all creatures you control such as Mikaeus, the Lunarch, Gavony Township, and Cathar's Crusade.

There's some funky tricks you can use Ooze Flux for. One such example is just how particularly nasty Ooze Flux can be when combined with undying creatures like Strangleroot Geist, Vorapede, and Geralf's Messenger.

Ooze Flux also makes a fine addition to any Ghave, Guru of Spores deck, especially when you control a Corpsejack Menace.

How will you use Ooze Flux?
