OO Fights returns to DC in February

On February 15, OO Fights returns to action with some of the DC area’s best MMA fighters showcasing their talents. On tap are three title fights, including Esrom Montesino’s (BETA Academy) first defense of the 170 lb. title. Montesino won the title in September by defeating Marc-Ari Lewis in the first round with an arm triangle. Watch this fight and the rest of the September fights by clicking here.

Montesino will be facing another local fighter, Jay Bee (Kaizen MMA). This is a matchup between two athletic fighters with wrestling backgrounds, so it should be a very interesting and tactical battle.

The second title bout features Kevin Chung (Big Brothers) and Pablo Garcia (Disciple), both of whom won unanimous decisions in that September event. The fight will take place at 135 pounds. Both of these fighters are quick and explosive and go hard the whole way. This should be an action-packed fight that leaves everyone entertained. The final title fight takes place at 155 pounds and features Rob Watley (Royal Martial Arts) against Tony Dabbondanza (BJJ Conquest).

The title fights are not the only good fights on the card. BETA Academy, which is quickly establishing itself as a force on the DC-area MMA scene, features three fighters besides Montesino on the card. Malcolm Travis, Kelly Quinn and Sunni Imhotep, who showed a smooth Muay Thai game in his September debut, are all scheduled for action. Vanguard Gym, Kaizen, and Yamasaki Academy are all featuring multiple fighters on the card as well.

The event is scheduled for February 15 and will be held at EchoStage. The address is 2135 Queens Chapel Rd., NE, Washington, DC 20018. More information about the event, including the fight card and how to purchase tickets, is available on the event’s website.
