The Ontario Fury, Driven by Mark Christopher Chevrolet, beat Toros Mexico 16-8 at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, Calif.
In front of a hot crowd of 5,285, the Fury jumped out to the lead just 1:55 into the game as Eli Gordley found the back of the net with an assist from Zach Bautista, setting the tone for the rest of the game. The Fury kept up the pace, scoring twice more – on goals from Israel Sesay and Bautista less than a minute apart.
Bautista ended the night with three goals and an assist to pace the Fury on the night, as they peppered Toros’ goaltender Obie Clibourne with 36 shots on goal. Ontario’s Sanaldo was credited with the win, only allowing three goals on 19 shots saves in 37:30 of action
The Toros side was paced on the night by Gerardo Villa, who scored five times in the game.
The Fury will open the Professional Arena Soccer League season at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10 against the Dallas Sidekicks.
