It's time for the annual Ontario County Fair. This year, the fair runs July 22-26. It is located at 2820 County Road 10 in Canandaigua, N.Y. Admission this year is $8 per car or $5 for walk-ins and motorcycles. Grandstand admissions are $10 for adults 14 and older; $5 for kids 8-13.
Free events this year include ventriloquist Sylvia Fletcher, a petting zoo, wild bird expo, Ontario County Sheriff demonstration, Project Safe Child with McGruff the Crime Dog and much more. There will also be nightly bands playing at Wolcott Park.
Grandstand events include a demolition derby on Tuesday and Saturday; a truck and tractor pull on Friday.
As always, there will be animal exhibits, 4-H booths, food judging, games, rides and plenty of food vendors. The 4-H horse shows are daily at 10 a.m. Other 4-H activities will include an animal costume show, rooster crowing contests, poultry show, dairy show, sheep show, goat show, open rabbit show and dog show.
The midway rides are provided by Playland Amusements and specials are as follows: Tuesday - $2 rides from 5-10 p.m., with 30 minutes of free rides from 6-6:30 p.m.; Wednesday and Saturday - Pay one price ride special is $20 from 1-5 p.m. ; Thursday - Buddy Night from 5-10 p.m. Two ride for the price of one; Friday - Pay one price ride special is $20 from 5-10 p.m.
