'Onslaught' brings new content to 'Call of Duty Ghosts' Jan. 28

A new downloadable pack, "Onslaught," will bring additional maps and weapons to "Call of Duty Ghosts" players later this month, Infinity Ward announced Sunday.

Promotional materials delivered to Gamestop originally leaked last week, but the developer waited to make the official announcement. Joystiq reported additional information Monday, detailing what players can expect when they finish downloading the latest content. The pack will include four multiplayer maps -- Fog, Bayview, Containment, and Ignition -- along with the first of four promised portions of a new Extinction campaign. The new game mode introduced in "Ghosts," features up to four players fighting against an alien invasion. The pack will also include a Maverick assault rifle and sniper.

According to Infinity Ward, "Onslaught" will set players back $15 when it launches Jan. 28 on the Xbox One and Xbox 360, as part of Microsoft's ongoing exclusivity agreement with Activision. No release date has been given for Sony console or PC owners.
