Windsor Terrace Greenmarket
The Windsor Terrace Greenmarket may not be much to look at, but for residents in the area it’s a wonderful thing. Starting in early May, the Market appears every Wednesday at the entrance to Prospect Park at Bartel Pritchard Square.
This year the Market expanded a bit – in addition to the Williams Fruit Farm (home of both apples and apple cider donuts) and Bread Alone, American Seafood and Maple Avenue Farm (purveyor of hormone and antibiotic-free beef) joined the party. During the summer months you could find artichokes at the Windsor Terrace Market long after they had disappeared from the larger Grand Army Plaza Market.
Unfortunately, the Windsor Terrace Market does not run year-round. The last day of operations this year is Wednesday, November 25th. That’s right – the day before Thanksgiving. For anyone looking to buy fresh ingredients for their holiday table, it’s a great thing.
