Only a biker knows . . .: Motorcycle wit and wisdom, #16

Love 'em, love 'em, love 'em! I love these biker quotes. My thanks, in many cases, go to members of online motorcycle forums, who put them in their signatures. Any time I'm on a motorcycle forum I'm looking at signatures to find new quotes, and occasionally I'll see something in the post itself that I just like. That's why some of them seem quite specific in an unexplained manner, such as the first one in this batch. Enjoy.

  • Keep the bike. Ditch the fiancee.
  • They don't expect you to finish. That's why it's the Dakar.
  • Sometimes it takes a whole tank of gas to leave your troubles behind.
  • Anticipate! Most "accidents" are predictable, and avoidable.
  • Warning: If this bike is on a trailer it is being stolen.
  • Live like you mean it, then get a bike.
  • Ride fast, life is short.
  • Between safety and adventure, I choose adventure.
  • It's not a real sport unless you can die from massive internal injuries.
  • Many of us are irritable most of the time (unless we're in love or just bought a motorcycle). -- Carolyn See
  • He who dies with the biggest gas tank--wins.
  • Adventure is taking inappropriate equipment to out-of-the-way places.
  • It is good to have an end to journey toward, but it is the journey that matters in the end. -- Ursula K. Le Guin
  • You want me to go where??? On that???? OOOOKKKKKAAAYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Rode to hell and back and have the T-shirt to prove it!!! It's not as bad as I thought and now I know why it's in Michigan.
  • Sweat wipes off. Road-rash doesn't.
  • Don't mess with old bikers. They don't just look crazy.
  • Above ground, and on a Harley. Life is good!!
  • As I get older and more fragile, my bikes get bigger, heavier, and more powerful....Another beer please!
  • There are old racers, and there are bold racers, but there are no old, bold racers who don't walk funny.
