OnLive announced this morning that they have teamed up with Vizio to bring its cloud-based game service to the consumer electronics manufacture in a deal that includes HDTVs, Blu-ray players, Android tablets and smartphones.
The OnLive service will be integrated with Vizio's VIA Plus line of HDTVs in resolutions up to 1080p and can support 3D as well. Vizio is also launching a new line of Blu-ray players, Android tables and smartphones that will support the gaming service as well.
"With the click of a remote control, or a tap on a tablet or phone touchscreen, VIZIO owners will be immediately transported into the OnLive Game Service, with the same state-of-the-art, instant game experience you get with the OnLive MicroConsole TV adapter, PCs, Macs, and the iPad," CEO Stever Perlman states at the OnLive blog. "In fact, you’ll be able to save your OnLive game on one device, and instantly resume it on another device. Seamlessly."
OnLive will be present at CES 2011 which kicks off tomorrow to show off the integration partnership with Vizio as well as show off some other new features such as SRS 5.1 Surround Sound for games.
As an added bonus, OnLive is slashing $33 off their MicroConsole from now until the end of the Consumer Electronic Show. You can order it now for $66.
