Onlive, a new service in development that leverages the idea of cloud computing and game streaming in order to produce the ultimate video game console, is now working on the iPhone. OnLive CEO Steve Perlman demonstrated the ability to stream games to the iPhone at the Wedbush Financial Conference in New York.
Since the current games are focused on TV, PC or Mac, OnLive is currently concentrating on the social and community aspects for mobile devices. This means you can find out what your friends are playing and even check out exactly what they are doing in spectator mode. But OnLive hopes to bring a number of titles to mobile phones in the future.
There's no availability date for OnLive on a particular smartphone as of yet.

Don't be an idiot. Onlive isn't "cloud" computing. Cloud computing requires computing on a "cloud" rather than a server. Onlive is server computing.
Onlive will most likely be one of the more popular applications for the iphone when it comes out. By the time this application is released however, other mobile carriers will probably offer it free like the Motorola droid 2.0 (the newest version of the Motorola Android) is doing. If that is the case when it is fully developed and goes live Apple might have some stiff competition!
