Any theme wedding—particularly a complex theme wedding—is easier to coordinate with a custom wedding planner organizer. Ideas for wedding themes (and honeymoons) can be fleeting and difficult to track and remember.
One website, 3X3 Links, offers a free browser start page that lets users easily add and organize links for their wedding planning and custom wedding websites, along with links to other related sites. This site also works with touch-screen monitors and shortcut keys for a speed-dial experience.
Theme weddings often involve non-wedding vendors, such as specialty apparel and decoration shops, and these may not be available at traditional wedding planning sites. And pulling together the perfect look for a theme wedding can mean gathering photos and other inspiration from a wide variety of Internet sources.
The 3X3 Links site provides a personal link for sharing custom organizers, so that family and friends can check out the dresses and venues under consideration, or visit your town's website to find local hotels and restaurants. There is even an option to hide specific links while sharing others—perfect for a couple who does not want their guests to know all the wedding details before they have been finalized.
Couples can easily add single links and folders with several links to their page, no matter which browser they use. All that is needed to customize a wedding planner organizer on 3X3 Links is a free Google account ID, such as for Gmail, and the password is not shared with the 3X3 Links site owner.
Below are some simple instructions for creating a wedding planner organizer with 3X3 Links, or you can watch a web cast with detailed instructions, and try out a premade, sample wedding planner organizer.
Step 1: Before beginning to customize your start page, gather all relevant hyperlinks. Write these down or type them into a spreadsheet and organize them by category and subcategory.
Step 2: With all hyperlinks now organized, type www.3x3links.com into your Internet browser address bar. In the upper right corner of the 3x3 Links homepage, log in with a Google ID. It may be best to create a new Google ID just for this page, especially if anyone else will need to log in to modify it later.
Step 3: Next, click "Customize" at the top of the page. Begin adding categories by clicking on the green "plus" sign in each rectangular section outlined in yellow. Type the relevant category name into the "Caption" field, and the related URL in the window below the caption, then click the green check mark to complete the entry. For any category that will have subcategories, click the check mark that says, "Folder." Subcategories are added by clicking on the caption of the main category while in "Customize" mode. Once finished, click "Finish Customizing."
Step 4: To personalize the look and feel of your wedding planner organizer, click "Options" at the top of the window and select "Personal Link" on the left. Scroll down to add a title (optional) and upload a background image. Be sure to click "Save Changes" at the bottom of the page.
Step 5: Sharing this wedding planner organizer page with family and friends is easy. Again, click "Options" at the top of the 3X3 Links page and select "Overview" on the left. Scroll down to the URL link under “Account Info.” Copy and paste this link into an email to send to family and friends. They will not need to log in to the start page when accessing through this URL.
Taking a few minutes to make your own wedding planner organizer online and to make a custom wedding website will help you, your family and friends to communicate better and enjoy the wedding planning process together. And it may impress them so much, they will finally believe you are grown up enough to be married!
