For those who ever wondered who one becomes a quality poker player, or ever considered if he had the capabilities to do so online, Pokerous has recently released an infographic detailing some good news. Several players who span the globe have now earned upwards of two million U.S. Dollars, with many more gaining six figure totals just by taking a chance with online poker.
An infographic was released by Pokerous and the graphic shows nearly 100 million poker players crisscross the globe. During the 2010 World Championship of Online Poker, the prize pool was set at over $12 million. The first place player, Tyson Marks, earned over $2.2 million.
The 2011 Pokerstars Fifth Anniversary Sunday Million has a prize pool that exceeds $11 million, with Luke Vrabel coming out on top with over $671,000. In 2008, at the World Championship of Online Poker, a 10.9 million stake was shared among the winners. Yevgeniy Timoshenko took the honors of first place, and won a $671,000 total.
All told, the six largest online poker earners have tallied over $17 million in tournaments. Antonio Esfandiari has the largest earnings with $25 million throughout his career. Erik Seidal has $21 million.
When it comes to where one can find competition, the most trafficked poker site online, PokerSTars averages nearly 21,000 players at all times. Full Tilt Poker, iPoker, 888Poker, and PartyPoker also list high totals of players on a consistent basis.
