Online and computer passwords the FBI says you should not use in 2013

The FBI has announced the ranking of the most common susceptible and hacked computer passwords.

Base on password information from compromised accounts posted by hackers online, it appears more people are learning to have longer and more unusual passwords for better protection.

The 2012 list, in ranking order include:

5. qwerty
6. monkey
7. letmein
8. dragon
9. 111111
10. baseball
11. Iloveyou
12. trustno1
13. 1234567
14. sunshine
15. master
16. 123123
17. welcome
18. shadow
19. ashley
20. football
21. jesus
22. michael
23. ninja
24. mustang
25. password1

The FBI offers these suggestions for a simple solution:

Long is strong. “Instead of a single word, with a jumble of symbols, numbers and characters, try a string of words. Use a line of your favorite poem, song or just something memorable. Feel free to add your lucky number at the end if you like.”

Variety. Don’t use the same password for multiple accounts.
