If you are looking for some venues to take your children this summer, check out these ongoing events in Broward County, Florida.

The Young at Art Musuem hosts Wonderscapes workshops for children five and under and their families. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays there are three unique classes the kiddos will love. Earth-friendly art with recyclables is featured on Mondays. Wednesdays are filled with music, from live performances, to singing, movement, and using instruments. Literary adventures are on Fridays. These half-hour classes (11:30 a.m. to 12 noon) are designed to add cultural arts to a child's development. Visit the museum's website for more information or call 954-424-5022. The museum is located at: 751 SW 121st Avenue in Davie. The admission is $13 for adults; $12 for kids ages 1 and older; and museum members take these workshops for free.

In Hollywood Arts Park holds Fantastic Fridays for children and their families. There is a disc jockey playing music, face painting for the kids, bounce houses, games, and more from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Arts Park at Young Circle is located between Hollywood Blvd. and Highway U.S. 1. The Sawgrass Nature Center in Coral Springs has two ongoing events that may be of interest to you and your family. Wednesdays provide a different theme each week with hands-on animal interactions, fun stories, crafts, and other educational activities. This Natural Explorer's event is for children ages 3 - 5 at 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. This is a free event.

On Sundays the children can meet a native or exotic animal and learn how they live in the wild and how we can interact with these creatures. This "Be Kind to Animals" event is free to the public starting at 11 a.m. for 20 minutes. Both events at the Sawgrass Nature Center and Wildlife Hospital are located at 3000 Sportsplex Drive in Coral Springs, Florida. Check out their website or call 954-752-9453.

And last, for family fun and good eats check out the Food Trucks at Arts Park in Hollywood. This ongoing event happens every Monday night from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. There is a variety of food with over 20 food trucks participating. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs to Arts Park between Hollywood Blvd. and U.S. 1. Free admission other than your cost for the food. Call 954-921-3500 for more details.
