This week marks the one year anniversary of the Parrish Art Museum's Midsummer Party (hosted by Terrie Sultan, Director of the Parish Art Museum) at its new location in Watermill and also in its new clothes so to speak as its new shell, architecturally speaking, was exceptional to say the least in more ways than one: the museum raised an impressive total of one million dollars, partly due to being the first to be held at the museum's new site in the Hamptons. The amazing new building was designed the Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron.

In the galleries: inspirational exhibitions: Alice Aycock Drawings: Some Stories Are Worth Repeating, showcasing Aycock's drawings as a prelude to her metal site sculptures. Also on view was Platform: Josephine Meckseper, (who shows at Andrea Rosen Gallery) an installation that responded to the museum's location and design.

One of the highlights of the summer Hamptons season--the Parrish Art Museum's Midsummer Party is a festive social gathering of artists, socialites, philanthropists, art collectors, entertainers, gallerists, and business leaders. Funds raised by the event support the Museum's exhibitions, publications, and programs.
