Police in Chicago and Lake County are looking for suspects in a pair of hit-and-run accidents.
Yesterday morning, the body of a 66-year-old woman was found near Route 53 and Route 83 in Long Grove at 12:38 a.m.
She was found just outside the northbound lane of traffic and was pronounced dead at the hospital. She suffered extensive head and chest injuries.
Police have not yet released the identity of the woman nor do they have a description of the vehicle involved.
Anyone who may have witnessed the accident should call the Lake County Sheriff's Office at 847 549-5200.
On the North Side of Chicago, police are asking the public to keep an eye out for an Audi A6 4-door with front-end damage.
A car fitting that description struck and critically injured a 21-year-old woman at 6:50 p.m. Monday night on the 3300 block of North Long. (See photo)
Police say the driver fled southbound on Long then turned west and took off down an alley.
The driver-side grille and headlight were damaged in the accident.
