With December 25th fast approaching, here are a few last minute things to remember this holiday season.
Don't try to do to much - Everyone knows the holidays are a busy time of year. Add children into the mix and the chaos gets a little worse. Keep this in mind as you plan events for the holidays. Don't be afraid to skip the friend's Christmas party this year, even if it has been an annual tradition since college. Spending an extra evening at home with wife and child, can be very rewarding. Plus the roads are bad.
Don't overspend - Write down a budget and stick to it. Use cash at the store for Christmas shopping and leave the plastic at home. If plastic is a must, stick to a debit card linked to a bank account. Be sure that husband and wife are on the same page with spending during the holidays.
Keep the Spirit - Take some time to remember what the holiday season is all about. Be sure to set aside time with family, think about the history behind the events that the Christmas holiday celebrates. If religion is a strong influence, take time to read the Christmas Story and discuss it's meaning.
