“Obviously we want to continue and win games at home. Our road record has been very very good and our home record is not so good at the moment. We got to make our home record good as well,” said FC Sounders Coach Sigi Schmid.
Sounders FC league leading offense is lead by the dynamic duo of Clint Dempsey and Obefami Martins.
Dempsey leads the league in goals scored with six and Martins leads the league in assists with four.
“ We are feeling confident, are in rhythm and are undefeated on the road, it’s a long season and we just need to pick up clean sheet,” Dempsey said of the teams recent play.
The Colorado Rapids will be using a diamond formation designed to attack the Seattle Sounders FC defense by having two narrow midfielders that will be supporting a point man striker that is feed by a holding midfielder behind the three players who’s job is to distribute passes.
Sounders FC will try to counter the Rapids diamond shape attack with quick side to side switches in hopes of getting behind the narrow midfielders created by the diamond shape.
