An adaptation of Charles Dicken’s “A Christmas Carol,” is currently onstage at Sierra Madre Playhouse. But for audience members who love a mystery and are seeking holiday theater a little “out of the box” check out “The Christmas Carol Murder Mystery” for one performance only on Sunday, December 22.
Ken Salzman directs a different take on the classic tale. Scrooge and Tiny Tim are, of course, still a part of the action. The story you love, slightly condensed remains, but by the end of Act 1 there has been a murder. Jacob Marley becomes the detective, thanks to night school, and the favorite characters, Bob and Ethel Cratchit, Fred and Elizabeth, Belle and believe it or not, Tiny Tim, are all suspects. Ghosts are in residence as well. Enjoy one of this favorite Christmas story with this interactive Murder Mystery worked into a joyous holiday tale.
This Dickens of a murder mystery is presented by Sanzman Productions Renaissance Murder Mystery Players and Sierra Madre Playhouse.
“The Christmas Carol Murder Mystery” performs 7 p.m. Sunday, December 22. Admission is $20. Call 626-355-4318 or visit www.sierramadreplayhouse.org.
