One More Warm Day, But Then It's Back Below Average

Highs and lows for Monday
Highs and lows for Monday
Scott Derek

Whoo! What a hot Memorial Day! We had sunshine mixed with some higher clouds in the afternoon, but that didn't stop us from reaching 87 at Philly International Airport after a low of 62 this morning.

High pressure is pushing away and allowing a backdoor cold front to provide rain and then colder temperatures starting late Tuesday afternoon
NOAA

Overnight we'll have a few clouds with lows in the lower 60s; Tuesday morning will start off with sunshine, but by lunchtime we'll be overcast with showers and thunderstorms by the evening commute. We'll squeeze out one more very warm day with highs in the upper 80s and a westerly wind around 10mph.

Showers and thunderstorms will linger overnight with lows not dropping below 70; this means the only way for temperatures to go is up, right? Well, we'll reach the upper 70s by lunchtime, but then fall back into the 60s by sunset with that backdoor cold front pushing southward and the wind coming out from the northeast.

This means that Thursday and Friday will be dry, but much cooler with highs just around 70(remember that our average high is 77) and overnight lows in the lower 50s(average low is 57).

Have a great night and be sure to check out the rest of the 7-day forecast(any time) at www.scottderekwx.com/forecast.html.
