Muslims believe they need protection from the government to practice their religion. To demonstrate their demand, they (American Muslim Political Action Committee or AMPAC) had planned a march to Washington, D.C., on, of all days, September 11. The timing for the march is questionable, so much so that one could interpret the occasion, regardless of its purpose, as a muslim victory march.
The purpose for the event has been changed, according to AMPAC, because many Americans are alarmed at the idea of a million muslims march on September 11. They will instead call it the Million Americans Against Fear march. The date remains the same.
Reason for fear
AMPAC is promoting the idea of Muslims being peaceful. It's Hollywood and the U.S. media that have portrayed them as otherwise. According to their site, Americans have been brainwashed into believing a myth and "pure hallucination," not reality:
"September 11th, 2001 was the beginning of a new era of fear. Since 9/11, Americans have been terrorized by the media. They have been taught to fear their neighbors. They have been inculcated with fear of other religions. They have been brainwashed into fearing people with brown skins, turbans, and foreign accents.....
But as the 12th anniversary of 9/11 approaches, we now know that there is nothing to fear. The whole “terrorist threat” is a hoax invented by fear-mongering politicians to control our minds and pick our pockets."
While their religion does not call for equality among all people, believers and unbelievers, it is interesting that AMPAC would implore all Americans to embrace our Constitution, a document which does call for equality*:
"It is time to speak out and reject the destruction of the Constitution of the United States of America. The neocons were able to shred the Constitution because they succeeded, temporarily at least, in making us afraid of each other. But there is nothing to fear. Terrorism is not a statistically significant threat."
They say they simply want in America to "share the perfection of the Quran and the beauty of our beloved Prophet Muhammad." In reality, they are already free to do so. They need to realize, however, that no one can legally be forced to believe or even to listen to what Muhammad has to say, leastwise not in America.
*Quran (4:89) - "They but wish that ye should reject Faith, as they do, and thus be on the same footing (as they): But take not friends from their ranks until they flee in the way of Allah (From what is forbidden). But if they turn renegades, seize them and slay them wherever ye find them; and (in any case) take no friends or helpers from their ranks."
The Jew-Hating Dem Behind the ‘Million Muslim March’ "Fox News reports that the name change 'did not seem to gain much traction,' and that the group has reverted to its original title."...
"Alam is also a Democratic Party operative who sought to become Missouri’s secretary of state and is chairman of the National Democratic Party Asian American Caucus (NDPAAC), which is sponsored by the DNC."
He is also a former “satellite campaign manager” for Barack Obama’s 2008 election effort, who was subsequently rewarded with an invitation to the White House in 2011."
In addition, Alam is a 9/11 “truther” who believes that Jews, in a grand conspiracy, perpetrated one of the worst domestic attacks in the nation’s history."
"The publicity given to this event has been unfortunate, but, if there is one positive aspect to this story, it is that yet another vicious anti-Semite has been outed in the Democratic Party."
