Friday and Saturday, September 27 and 28, were another example of the power of a martial arts school to make a difference in their community. The growing leaders of Pilsung ATA Martial Arts fanned out to multiple locations in an effort to make the cities of Greenwood and Indianapolis better places to live.
On Friday evening the weekend was kicked off by Mr. Breuninger, Recommended Black Belt, as he organized a Park Clean Up effort in Greenwood’s West Side Park. Then on Saturday, while Mr. Breuninger continued his effort with a morning clean up team at Craig Park and an evening clean up at Freedom Park, another team from Pilsung made an impact in Indianapolis. Thirty one students and family members from the school traveled to The Lord’s Pantry at Anna’s House to help the staff of that facility distribute food, by the grocery bag full, to approximately 250 local families. So, while one team, led by a young man on a mission to clean up his community, was carrying trash out in grocery bags, another team was helping families carry out food in grocery bags.
By the end of Saturday evening the city of Greenwood had three newly cleaned parks and 250 low income Indianapolis families had enough fresh food to feed everyone for a week. It was an amazing weekend of community service, but nothing new for the incredible team of leaders, black belts, students and families of Pilsung ATA Martial Arts.
