At CloudCamp, you’ll hear terms like "server hugger" (not an obsessive need to cuddle waitstaff), by the end of the day you might find a whiteboard bullet point labeled "drop acid” (as in SQL vs No SQL - what were you thinking?) and you can expect to find happy people sharing. Yes, about cloud computing. It's like hippie world for tech people.
Welcome to Part 2 of your report on Vancouver's unconference cloudtech event:
The overall feeling from the conference seems to be that everyone was excited by the possibilities cloud computing has to offer. Startups have the most to gain by taking calculated risks in exploring the uses of the technology - especially in regards to cost savings and bandwith. Still, every session underlined that companies should assess their needs carefully in considering cost vs. benefits vs. security.
