One last Labor Day All Harley Drag Race for Dallas bikers, video

All the talk in Dallas’ biker community includes the one-last-Labor-Day-weekend at Little River Dragway for the All Harley Drag Race. This is a beautiful shade tree covered party location with a drag strip right in the middle of it.

There will be ‘Motorcycle ONLY Camping Area’ at this years’ 30th Temple Party Drags will STILL BE AVAILABLE even thou in the past year Little River Dragway has repaired the road around the back side of the race track to where it is accessible to full size vehicle traffic. It’s still a NO GENERATOR ZONE, tent & motorcycle camper area ONLY that’s got a lot of shade trees!

The giant shade trees are in abundance but there’s just so many, full size vehicles don’t fit on the back of the drag strip. So, even thou folks can pass thru the Motorcycle Only Camping Area with cars and pickups, it is best if they’d just not camp there.

If motorcycle enthusiasts want to bring in a motor home & trucks & trailers and run a generator and an air conditioner all night, FINE. However, park them on the other side of the track.

So camp – motel it – day ride it – it doesn’t matter – just be there!

Along with Dallas' favorite racing legend, Jocko, see who else will be in the line-up:

Carrie Tate, the female nitro Harley pilot known as The Amazon is tearing ‘em up on the All Harley Drag Race Association (AHDRA) National Circuit as a competitor. And now she’s also known as the fastest female that’s ever been down the track on a Nitro Harley.

Carrie and her husband, Kerry will be competing at Little River All Harley Drags just outside of Temple, TX. This is the only stop that’s not a National Event where ‘points’ are on the line.

She and her husband got the Harley racing bug several years ago when they rode their bikes down from Arkansas to a race Red Roberts promoted in Shreveport. While there, it looked like so much fun that Carrie entered the bike she rode in on, and has been hooked ever since. Also, (quoting Red again) “Once you get a look at this genuine lady – you’ll understand why her male competitors don’t trash talk her.”

An old Top Gas racer from the early 70’s Don Rothwell is coming down from Missouri to race and show off his vintage style dragster frames for the resurging nostalgic trend of the Motorcycle Drag Racing Sport.

AMRA stand out and one of the most fearsome competitors in Pro Fuel right now Hal Cort out of Metalcraft Racing in Houston is coming. Add to the mix a 40 plus year Nitro Harley veteran Paul Jones that will attend with his bike and you’ll realize this creates a special excitement for everyone.

A brand new racing team for 2013 will be announced at Temple this year that should totally rekindle the fire in a bunch of old racers. (hint – they’re sitting on their fuel bikes side by side in the shot at the top of www.texasscooter.com web site that was taken at Eastex Dragway in 1984).

David (Ranger) Swan called Red the other day and said he’d just fired up his 114” Nitro Powered Jockey shift Big Twin and the East Texas veteran is ready for battle.

East Texas’ Shorty Reed is in the middle of what looks like a sale of his nitro bike to a local Killeen motorcycle shop to come to Temple with, but will still be there to battle with his arch rival . . . ex Army Ranger, John “The Jet” Peek from Full Throttle Custom cycles in Houston in Top Alcohol. Reed, the now 48 year old ex-bull rider . . . ex many time tough man contest winner, motocross racer and often time National Champion, and John Peek have a rivalry that neither asks for or gives no quarter.

This is one of the reasons that the most experienced Pro Harley Racing Stager that’s ever stood between dragsters, Rick Forse (Cousin to the famous Funny Car racing John Force – that part of the family changed the spelling of their name) is coming back to do his job after recovering from surgery this summer for Texas Scooter's ‘one-last-Labor-Day-Weekend’ – to keep the BATTLE FAIR!

Red’s hearing from LOTS of folks that have been to the beautiful track just across the Little River Bridge over the past 29 years for one last Labor Day Weekend.

Red says “It’s the same FRENZY that happens in a bar at closing time when everybody wants ONE MORE ROUND after ‘Last Call’ is hollered by the bartender.” and Red’s kind of excited too. Visit www.TexasScooter.com for a plethora of information, served up in Red’s never-to-be-equaled style.
