One killed in Palm Coast accident Saturday morning

A Palm Coast man was killed in a local traffic accident early Saturday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The FHP in Jacksonville says 62-year old Robert Thomas Cronin was eastbound on Whiteview Parkway around 3:25 Saturday morning, “…at a high rate of speed (approximately 80 miles-per-hour), in a posted 45 miles-per-hour zone.” Troopers say the man’s vehicle went off the road into the median where Whiteview Parkway makes a turn to the right near Rolling Sands Drive, and then proceeded 111 feet eastbound and started to turn clockwise. The front fender and driver’s door then hit a tree, and the vehicle “…rotated back counter clockwise and came to final rest facing west on Whiteview Parkway’s eastbound lane.” The FHP says no other vehicles were involved in the accident.
