A North Dakota man was killed in a motorcycle accident in Volusia County Friday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. FHP spokesperson Sgt. Kim Montes says 27-year old Levi Leibfried of Devils Lake, North Dakota, was eastbound on State Road 40 around 6:35 Friday evening near Creek Haven Road. Troopers say Leibfried’s motorcycle “…traveled into the westbound lanes…” of State Road 40 for an unknown reason, and was struck by a westbound SUV. Leibfried was ejected from the bike in the accident, and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Medical Examiner. The motorcyclist had not been wearing a helmet. The FHP says the accident remains under investigation.
