One in four Americans suspect President Barack Obama may be the Antichrist, with 13 percent of Americans convinced that Obama is the Antichrist. The numbers come from Public Policy Polling, and suggest a substantial minority of Americans are susceptible to the wildest and most outlandish conspiracy theories.
The data, released April 2, indicates that 20% of Republicans believe that President Obama is the Anti-Christ, compared to 13% of independents and 6% of Democrats. The good news is that three of four respondents to the Public Policy Polling survey say they do not believe that Barack Obama is the Antichrist.
The data also shows the following:
58% of Republicans claim global warming is a hoax, while 77% of Democrats disagree.
44% of voters believe the Bush administration intentionally misled the public about weapons of mass destruction to promote the Iraq War, while 45% disagree.
22% of Democrats, 33% of Republicans and 28% of independents believe Saddam Hussein was involved in the 9/11 terrorist attacks (he was not).
And a little over 6% of voters think Osama bin Laden is still alive (he is dead).
Finally, the data shows more than 12 million Americans (4 percent of the population) think that giant lizards dressed in suits are running the United States, a conspiracy theory which suggests that President Barack Obama is some kind of real-life lizard king.
What do you think? Could President Barack Obama be the Antichrist? Is your neighbor a giant lizard masquerading as a human? Leave a comment - express yourself.
