One employee was killed and another critically wounded at a tattoo parlor in southwest Atlanta on Wednesday evening.
So far, police have no suspects in custody and they are still trying to determine the motive for the deadly shooting.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting also remained unclear Thursday.
The investigation began around 6 p.m. when officers responded to the Tattoos & Piercings at 806 Lee St. after getting a call about a person shot, according to Atlanta police.
When they arrived at the scene they found two victims, one of whom was already dead, police spokesman Officer John Chafee said.
“One male who appeared to be in his late 30s was deceased at the scene and the second male who appeared to be in his mid-20s was transported to Grady Hospital in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the chest,” Officer Chafee said.
“It appears that both victims work at the location and at this time the motive remains unclear.”
The name of the deceased male is being withheld until his next of kin is notified, according to the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Anyone with information on this shooting is asked to contact Atlanta Police Homicide Investigators at (404) 546-4235 or Crime Stoppers at (404) 577-8477.
