Update 8/19/14: Harley has been adopted!!

A big, handsome Labrador retriever mix named "Harley," is still waiting for a family of his own following the "Empty the Shelter" event that was held for shelters in North Texas.

The Facebook page, Paws for Irving Animals, updated their followers on Saturday about Harley's need for a new home:

Harley is one of the ONLY dogs that wasn't adopted at the amazing Empty the Shelter day today! But guess what? If you adopt this amazing guy on Tuesday it will be FREE!!! Just one day more for just one special guy. Irving Animal Services is open from 11 AM to 6 PM Tuesday.

Harley is described as a big, friendly, energetic dog who loves to play - he is five years of age and would likely thrive in an active household.

According to Saturday's NBC DFW News, thousands of animals found homes at the huge adoption event - in fact, the turnout stunned shelter workers. Despite the huge success for so many homeless animals, Harley remains in need of a family.

Please take a moment to network this handsome dog's information.
