One Direction fans kicked off the night at the 2013 People’s Choice Awards. The first award of the night was handed out on Wednesday during the red carpet and the voices of the fans were heard for the Favorite Song category. Giving One Direction the award for What Makes You Beautiful, the fans were screaming with delight from outside the Nokia Theatre in Downtown Los Angeles.
While the guys weren't available to pick up the award personally, they definitely did thank their fans with a recorded message that was broadcast after the announcement. With thousands of people taking time to vote the sincere message had to make the fans proud.
One Direction isn't the only popular group that won’t be part of the award show in Los Angeles. Demi Lovato and Britney Spears aren't expected to be part of the show either. However, as schedules change, it wouldn't be surprising if anyone walks on the stage to collect an award as it is all about the voice of the fans.
