One Direction unveils first teaser trailer for '1D3D' documentary movie

One Direction fans all over the Internet have been buzzing over the teaser trailer for "1D3D," the 3-D documentary film about One Direction that arrives in cinemas on Aug. 30, 2013. On Feb. 8, 2013, the trailer made its TV debut on ITV1's "Daybreak" in the United Kingdom, and on NBC's "Today" in the United States. The trailer then officially premiered online on Feb. 10, 2013.

As previously reported, "1D3D" is directed by Oscar nominee Morgan Spurlock and will be released by Sony Pictures Entertainment's TriStar Pictures. Spurlock and "The X Factor" executive producer Simon Cowell are among the producers of the movie. Parts of "1D3D" will include footage from One Direction's 2013 world tour, which launches Feb. 22 in London. There will also be a lot of footage from One Direction's 2012 concerts.

One Direction came in third place on "The X Factor" U.K. in 2010. The group has since become the biggest act to emerge from "The X Factor," by having No. 1 hits and sold-out tours in several countries. One Direction's meteoric rise to fame is a much-discussed topic in the "1D3D" movie, based on what is shown in the trailer.

The "1D3D" trailer shows mostly footage of One Direction from 2012, particularly the group's milestone concert at New York City's Madison Square Garden on Dec. 3 of that year. The trailer also shows the hysterical reactions from the group's mostly young and female fan base, including the nonstop screaming from fans.

The members of the group are seen and heard talking about their reactions to their success.

One Direction's Niall Horan says in a voiceover: "Because of you, we're No. 1 in 37 countries."

One Direction's Liam Payne adds: "We never expected any of this to happen."

One Direction's Louis Tomlinson comments: "I don't know if you could have a more dramatic life change."

Members of the group also talk about missing their families when they're away from home but that being in One Direction is like being in a family of brothers.

There's some footage of the mothers of Payne and One Direction's Harry Styles getting tearful. (The footage of Styles' mother was from "The X Factor" U.K. in 2010.) One Direction's Zayn Malik is shown talking on the phone to his mother, as he says, "Are you crying, mum"? Well, get off the phone before I start crying."

The members of One Direction are also shown goofing around backstage. At the end of the trailer, Tomlinson has two teacups stacked on his head, and he dares Payne (who says, "Don't try this at home) to drink from the teacups. As Payne is about to do that, Tomlinson runs away, and the teacups shatter on the floor.

As previously reported, One Direction has asked fans for YouTube video uploads of personal stories about One Direction. The footage that is uploaded will be considered for inclusion for the "1D3D" movie.

Many of the fans commenting on the Internet said they started crying after seeing the "1D3D" trailer. There have also been lots of "OMG" (Oh My God) exclamations in fan comments on the Internet.
