One Direction set to perform at the Brit Awards

One Direction is schedule to perform at the Wednesday, Feb. 20 Brit Awards. MSN reports that boy bander's Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik are getting geared up to play the huge event that will also feature performances from Justin Timberlake, and Mumford & Sons.

Mumford & Sons, Emeli Sande and Alt-J lead the nominations for the Brit Awards, with three each.

The late Amy Winehouse ,who died in July 2011 from alcohol poisoning is also up for an award. Winehouse is up for Best British Female Artist for her posthumous album "Lioness: Hidden Treasures."

Other nominees include the Rolling Stones, up for Best Live Act against Coldplay, Mumford & Sons, Muse and The Vaccines.

Among the international nominees are Alicia Keys, Rihanna, the Black Keys, Bruce Springsteen and indie-pop band, fun.

Contenders for the biggest award of the night, Best Album, include Sande's "Our Version of Events," Alt-J's "An Awesome Wave," Mumford & Sons' "Babel," Plan B's "Ill Manors" and Paloma Faith's "Fall to Grace."

The 2013 Brit Awards will introduce a new category during the show recognizing global success with nominees including One Direction, Mumford & Sons, and Adele who will be competing against each other for the new award.

The awards are chosen by more than 1,000 musicians, critics and record industry figures, with several decided by public vote.
