For the second year in a row, One Direction's Harry Styles has been named Villain of the Year. On Feb. 26, 2014, the NME Awards, which are voted on by "NME" readers, gave Styles the dubious honor at a ceremony held at the O2 Academy Brixton in London. Styles and the rest of One Direction did not attend the ceremony.

One Direction had the dubious honor of winning the Worst Band prize at the NME Awards in 2013 and 2012. The group obviously did not attend the ceremony then either.

"NME" is a magazine that primarily covers rock music. Many pop artists are looked down on by "NME" writers and readers, who consider a lot of pop music to be not good enough for their tastes.

At the 2014 NME Awards, the nominees for Worst Band were One Direction, The 1975, Muse, The Wanted, Imagine Dragons and 30 Seconds To Mars. The 1975 got the prize.

Villain of the Year nominees for the 2014 NME Awards were Styles, Russell Brand, Robin Thicke, Miley Cyrus, David Cameron and Vladimir Putin.

Arctic Monkeys won the most prizes (three) at the ceremony: Best British Band, Best Live Band and Best Album (for AM).

Special awards went to Paul McCartney (who was honored with the Songwriters' Songwriter Award) and Damon Albarn, who received the NME Awards for Innovation.

A complete list of winners can be found at the "NME" website.

While the NME Awards may have a lot of disdain for One Direction, the group has been honored with prizes at several other awards shows, including the Brit Awards, American Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards, People's Choice Awards, NRJ Music Awards, MTV Video Music Awards, Teen Choice Awards, Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards, MTV Europe Music Awards, Radio Disney Music Awards, Bambi Awards and ARIA Awards.

One Direction, which was came in third place "The X Factor" U.K. in 2010, has since become the world's biggest-selling act to emerge from "The X Factor."
