One Direction had fans packed in as far as the eye could see at Rockefeller Plaza on Friday morning. The British band was the featured entertainment for the Today show summer concert series and it’s safe to say they rocked out the morning in style. With the stage in the middle of the chaos, the artists offered several songs for the fans to hear including Kiss You.
The annual Friday summer tradition of a mini concert before the weekend obviously was perfect this week. Camping out days prior to the event, the fans filled every inch of the area so all the youngsters could get a good view of the show.
“NYPD have said there was 18,000 people out there! Unbelievable,” tweeted Niall Horan from his official Twitter account on Friday. The initial estimates had show producers expecting 15,000 fans, but it’s pretty obvious there was room for more.
Fans who didn't make the journey to downtown Manhattan chatted up the experience on Twitter with other fans. Able to see the performance live on the Today show across America, it obviously was a moment for the fans to remember.
