One Direction received two nominations for the 2014 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards: Favorite Music Group and Favorite Song (for "Story of My Life"). Nickelodeon announced the nominations on Feb. 24, 2014.

The 2014 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards (hosted by Mark Wahlberg) will take place March 29 at the University of Southern California's Galen Center in Los Angeles. Nickelodeon will telecast the ceremony from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. EST/PST.

Voting for the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards is open to the public at Nickelodeon's official website.

It has not yet been announced if One Direction is attending the ceremony or not.

As previously reported, One Direction and "X Factor" executive producer Simon Cowell were among the prize winners at the 2013 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards. One Direction won the awards for Favorite Music Group and Favorite Song (for "What Makes You Beautiful"). Cowell won the prize for Favorite Villain.

One Direction, Cowell and some of the show's other winners were not at the ceremony and did not provide any prerecorded acceptance speeches. One Direction had two concerts in Birmingham, England, on the same date as the awards show. Cowell was busy with "Britain's Got Talent" (he's a judge/executive producer on the show), and he was traveling back and forth between the U.K. and the U.S.

Cowell was One Direction's "X Factor" mentor when he was a judge on "The X Factor" U.K. After One Direction came in third place on "The X Factor" U.K. in 2010, Cowell signed One Direction to Syco Music, the record company that he co-owns with Sony Music. One Direction has since become the biggest-selling act worldwide to emerge from "The X Factor."

In addition, Nickelodeon in the U.K. had its own categories for the 2013 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards. One Direction won the prize for Favorite U.K. Band. The other nominees in the category were Lawson, Little Mix and The Wanted.

"The X Factor" U.K. lost out on winning Favorite U.K. TV Show to "House of Anubis." The other nominees in the category were "Doctor Who" and "Wolfblood."

Olly Murs (who came in second place on "The X Factor" U.K. in 2009) was nominated for Favorite U.K. Male Artist, but he lost to Ed Sheeran. The other nominees in the category were Conor Maynard and Labrinth.

One Direction performed "What Makes You Beautiful" at the 2012 Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards in Los Angeles. At the time, One Direction was not eligible for any awards at that ceremony because One Direction's music had not yet been released in the U.S. during the eligibility period.

Here are the nominees in the 2014 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards categories in which One Direction was nominated:

Favorite Music Group
Maroon 5
One Direction
OneRepublic
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis

Favorite Song
Taylor Swift, “I Knew You Were Trouble”
Katy Perry, “Roar”
One Direction, “Story of My Life”
Miley Cyrus, “Wrecking Ball”
