One Direction is one of the hottest tickets in 2013. The British band has sold out concerts around the world, so it isn’t surprising that con artists are using the band as bait to grab easy money. On Friday the UK edition of OMG! Yahoo revealed the latest family from Prenton Gardens, Norcross that got scammed.
The Speakman children received tickets to the One Direction concert as Christmas gift. Listening to the music of the band and getting excited, the idea was to have a great time at the concert. However, the tickets haven’t come yet.
Kirsty Speakman bought the One Direction tickets on eBay and the final part of getting the stubs to enter the concert hasn’t happened. Apparently the seller took off with the cash and left the family without any tickets. Being it’s a sold out show, it’s nearly impossible to get more seats for the kids.
Adding insult to injury, it appears the Speakman family has yet to receive the return of their cash from the fake ticket purchase.
Most One Direction ticket purchases from online ticket outlets are legit. However, it’s never recommended to buy tickets online at auction sites. As most transactions are legit, it only takes one bad seller to ruin the experience.
