One Direction and more 'X Factor' stars on Billboard's 2013 year-end charts

Billboard magazine has released its year-end lists of the United States' biggest music hits of 2013. Not surprisingly, One Direction is ranked on several lists.

One Direction came in third place on "The X Factor" U.K. in 2010 and has become the world's biggest-selling act to emerge from "The X Factor."

Here is where One Direction and other "X Factor" stars ranked on the lists:

Top Artists of 2013

Ranking is based on an artist's chart performance on the Billboard Hot 100 (which includes airplay, sales, and streaming data) and the Billboard 200 albums chart, as well as Boxscore touring revenue, Social 50 chart activity and ringtone sales.

One Direction is ranked at No. 8.

Britney Spears (former "X Factor" U.S. judge) is ranked at No. 38.

Demi Lovato (former "X Factor" U.S. judge) is ranked at No. 39.

Top Tours of 2013

The Top 25 Tours of 2013 are ranked by gross, compiled from Billboard Boxscores reported from Nov. 14, 2012, to Nov. 12, 2013.

One Direction was ranked at No. 12.

Top Billboard Hot 100 Songs of 2013

Year-end most popular songs across all genres, ranked by radio airplay audience impressions as measured by Nielsen BDS, sales data as compiled by Nielsen SoundScan and streaming activity data provided by online music sources.

One Direction's "Best Song Ever" peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in July 2013. "Best Song Ever" was ranked as the No. 74 song on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for 2013. (Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' "Thrift Shop" was ranked at No. 1.)

Will.i.am & Britney Spears' "Scream & Shout" is ranked at No. 23 for the Billboard Hot 100 Songs of 2013.

Demi Lovato was ranked at No. 50 for the Billboard Hot 100 Songs of 2013 for "Heart Attack," which was the first single from her fourth album, "Demi." "Heart Attack" was also Lovato's only Top single that reached the Top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100 of 2013. (The song peaked at No. 10 and sold 2 million copies in the U.S..) Her other three singles of 2013 ("Made in the USA," "Let It Go" and "Neon Lights") failed to make it into the Top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Olly Murs (second place on "The X Factor" U.S. in 2009) was ranked at No. 82 for the Billboard Hot 100 Songs of 2013 for "Troublemaker" featuring Flo Rida. "Troublemaker" peaked at No. 25 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Top Billboard 200 Albums of 2013

Year-end top-selling albums across all genres, ranked by sales data as compiled by Nielsen SoundScan.

One Direction's second album, "Take Me Home," is ranked at No. 3. The album was released in November 2012, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, and has been certified platinum (1 million copies shipped) by the Recording Industry Association of America.

One Direction's first album, "Up All Night," is ranked at No. 43. The album was released in the U.S. in March 2012, debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, and has been certified platinum (1 million copies shipped) by the Recording Industry Association of America.

(One Direction's third album, "Midnight Memories," was released on Nov. 25, 2013, after the cutoff date to be included on these lists.)

Demi Lovato's "Heart Attack" is ranked at No. 30 for the Top Pop Songs of 2013.

Olly Murs' "Troublemaker" featuring Flo Rida is ranked at No. 49 for the Top Pop Songs of 2013.

Top R&B Songs of 2013

Annual ranking of the most popular R&B/hip -hop songs, based on radio airplay audience impressions as measured by Nielsen BDS, sales data as compiled by Nielsen SoundScan and streaming activity data from online music sources tracked by Nielsen BDS.

Kelly Rowland's "Kisses Down Low" was ranked at No. 67 for the Top R&B Songs of 2013. The song, which is the first single from "Talk a Good Game," was a No. 25 hit on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and peaked at No. 72 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. "Kisses Down Low" has been certified gold (500,000 copies shipped) by the Recording Industry Association of America.

Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums of 2013

Year-end top-selling R&B/Hip-Hop albums, ranked by sales data as compiled by Nielsen SoundScan.
