One man was killed and a woman injured in three-vehicle collision that happened late Tuesday evening in Cobb County.
Police are withholding the dead man’s identity until after they have notified his next of kin.
The incident happened shortly after 11 p.m. on South Cobb Drive near Walker Street, according to Cobb County police.
Investigators said the man was driving a 2009 Kia Spectra east on South Cobb Drive when the wreck happened.
At that time Ms. Cherise Brown, 38, was driving a white 2010 Lexus RX350 west on the same street along with Mr. Charles Bryden, 39, who was driving a blue 2008 Chrysler PT Cruiser, police spokesman Sgt. Dana Pierce said.
For reasons unknown, the driver of the Kia entered the westbound travel lanes of South Cobb Drive and collided with the Lexus, Sgt. Pierce said.
“Moments after the Kia and the Lexus came to an uncontrolled stop, the driver of the Chrysler struck them,” Sgt. Pierce said.
Ms. Brown, of Marietta, was transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Sgt. Pierce said. Mr. Bryden, also of Marietta, was not injured.
No charges are expected to be filed, Sgt. Pierce said.
