One Compassion International staffer from Colorado Springs found with no major injuries

Compassion International has accounted for Dan Woolley of Colorado Springs. He was pulled from an elevator shaft in a hotel in Port-au-Prince, Haiti about an hour ago (Friday, 10:00 A.M. Mountain Time). Stephan Archer, a spokesman for Compassion International, said Dan appears to be traumatized but does not have any major injuries. One staffer from the Springs is still missing. Of 74 Compassion International workers in Haiti , 40 have been confirmed OK.


Compassion International, Inc. headquarters are at 12290 Voyager Parkway in northern Colorado Springs. They are an international child development ministry working with children of poverty in 23 countries, including the U.S. , through spiritual, physical, economic, and social development programs. They were established in 1952 and spend over $300 million to fund its efforts. Their U.S. staff is 456 and 550 workers are based internationally.
