Well, he made himself king, at least. The people didn't want a king. But, the leader thought he knew best. So, he instructed his ministers to create a new law wherein everyone's needs would be provided, all problems would be handled by money taken from the mean, rich people, and the realm would live happily ever after, but only if he were made king and all of his proclamations became law.
There came a problem though, when it was realized that his new law was going to cost far more than anyone had guessed. Almost immediately, the program that was created by the new law went broke. But some of the people, the ones that liked the king, didn't want the program to go away because they were helped by it. It didn't matter to them if the whole kingdom was penniless, as long as they continued to get free things from the king.
One day, a very bad person attacked some defenseless children with a sword. It was very sad, and those that loved the king cried out. The king decided that it would be best if there were no more swords in the kingdom. He decreed that everyone should turn them in.
Oh, how they loved him! He was the first of his kind. He was like them, different. Even when it became known that the king was an impostor whose father was from a country that was an enemy, it didn't matter to them. He promised them more and more! They loved him more!
But there were others in the kingdom that didn't like him very much. They said over and over that he was an impostor, that the king could not do the things he was doing. They said that the king's treasury could not afford these new expenses. They tried to force the king to get rid of the law. They tried to get the ministers to change the law. But they were ignored! The ministers were liked by the people, too, and this made the ministers feel good.
It wasn't long before the kingdom was destitute. The king's ministers printed more and more paper money, but that didn't work. Soon the ministers declared that they were no longer able to pay the kingdom's expenses.
Countries that the kingdom owed vast sums to were angry. They threatened the king, which gave the king the opportunity to do what he had planned to do all along. He fired all of the soldiers and generals throughout the kingdom.
Oh, he saved the kingdom so much gold! Everyone was happy again, that was until another king from another land, the land of the king's father, decided that he wanted a bigger palace, a "white" one. So, he gathered up his armies and he invaded. There were no more soldiers to protect the people, and the king had long ago taken away all of their swords.
The invaders killed everyone, and lived happily ever after in the big, white palace!
