On the mid-season finale of "Once Upon a Time," Peter Pan's curse to wipe Storybrooke off the map could not be stopped. The episode ended on Emma and Henry living a happy life together with altered memories and then Hook showed up. Sneak peeks have revealed that Storybrooke will be back, but the question is how? On Feb. 12, WetPaint offered up some theories on how it could happen.
The synopsis reveals that nobody can remember how they were brought back to Storybrooke or even what happened during the past year. The synopsis says that someone in Storybrooke is responsible and that the evidence indicates the person to look at is the Wicked Witch. To break the curse, new characters will come in and old ones will resurface, but not everyone is trustworthy.
The fact that it states in the synopsis that all clues point to the Wicked Witch should warn fans that it will probably end up not being her. The clues may point in her direction, but knowing all the twists and turns in the fairy tale series, it will most likely be someone nobody expected.
There is speculation that it could be Rumple who casts the curse, but this doesn't seem likely either. Rumple died on the mid-season finale and co-creators Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis have stated that the characters who died will stay dead. There are photos of him filming, so he has to appear sometimes, but it seems that it will probably be flashbacks or maybe dreams.
Another theory is that it is the Blue Fairy because of her incredible power. Viewers still don't know what her deal is so she could be a possibility.
The Good Witch could be the one responsible. There is practically nothing known about this character and just because she has "good" in her name doesn't necessarily mean that is what her intentions are. Does she come to Storybrooke to battle the Wicked Witch? Or could she be the reason there is a new curse?
"Once Upon a Time" season 3 returns to ABC on March 9.
