"Once Upon a Time" is about to force Hook (Colin O'Donoghue) and Emma (Jennifer Morrison) to spend a lot of quality time together, so Swan Queen shippers are probably going to have a hard time stomaching the show's season finale. Just get ready for a bad romance novel without the bodice ripping.
According to a May 5 report by IB Times, Captain Swan is about to travel back and time. The Fairytale Fellowship managed to stop Zelena (Rebecca Mader) from traveling back in time, but they failed to prevent her from opening her time portal. For some reason, the portal popped back open after Rumple (Robert Carlisle) killed the Wicked Witch.
Of course klutzy Emma manages to fall into the portal after going to investigate, and guess who just happens to be with her? There's no way that Hook is going to let Emma go again, so Captain Swan ends up in the Enchanted Forest of the past somewhere around the time that Charming (Josh Dallas) and Snow (Ginnifer Goodwin) first meet.
There probably won't be any great Swan Queen moments since the Regina (Lana Parrilla) of the past is still the Evil Queen, and Hook and Emma don't want to step on her toes, anyway – they're going to be too focused on making sure that they don't dramatically alter the future by changing the past. It looks like this might involve pulling a "Back to the Future" by ensuring that Snow and Charming fall in love (will Emma start to fade away if Charming and Snow decide that they can't stand one another?).
During the last episode of "Once Upon a Time," fans learned that Emma is determined to move back to New York City with Henry (Jared Gilmore), and she doesn't seem to have any problem leaving Hook behind. Going back to NYC would definitely be a selfish move since Henry also loves his adoptive mom, and it's hard to imagine Regina agreeing to move to New York just so Emma can have what she wants. She might be full of light magic, but the new and improved Regina is not going to be a pushover.
The two-part season finale is comprised of the episodes "Snow Drifts" and "There’s No Place Like Home. That latter title is very telling – it makes it sound like Emma will decide that Storybrooke is her home by the end of this season. And it looks like Hook might just help her make that decision.
The old Enchanted Forest is a pretty romantic place with its storybook scenery and lavish balls, and it looks like Emma gets to attend one of these fairytale affairs, ball gown and all. There's a glimpse of Hook dancing with her in the promo, and he's dressed in some rather regal attire. So will Emma fall for the pirate now that he's finally ditched his stinky leather uniform?
The promo for last week's episode made it sound like the show will head to an exciting new world after the finale. After bragging about how "Once Upon a Time" has already visited Oz and Neverland, the voiceover guy said that the final minutes of the finale will reveal where the show is going next. So do you think that Hook and Emma end up in another land after they try to travel back to the future? And will you refuse to watch season 4 if Swan Queen spends most of it apart?
