'Once Upon A Time' spoilers: 'The Outsider' sneak peeks and images [Updated] (Photos)

In this Sunday’s exciting follow-up to “The Cricket Game,” Storybrookers will be mourning the loss of their dear friend, Jiminy Cricket a.k.a. Dr. Archie Hopper. While most of our fairytale favorites view Regina as their primary threat in town and focus their energy on stopping her from hurting anyone else, Rum-Belle becomes aware of a new enemy: Captain Hook.

ABC has released clips and images from “The Outsider” and it looks like we are in for another nail-biting episode. To refresh your memory, here is TVGuide’s official episode description:

Mr. Gold wants to search for Bae, so he tests a new spell on a reluctant guinea pig. Meanwhile, Belle runs into Hook; Mary Margaret and David look for a larger home; and back in fairy-tale land, Belle teams up with Mulan to conquer a terrifying creature.

The scenes below give us a little taste of what’s to come and the promotional stills tease a lot more action in Storybrooke and Fairytale Land.

The first emotional clip shows Snow White as she gives a loving eulogy at Dr. Hopper’s funeral. Although the townspeople think Jiminy is dead, we know that they will eventually learn the truth. Let’s hope it is sooner rather than later.

Needless to say, Archie’s death has rattled the people of Storybrooke. Many of them fear for their lives and are worried about their future in a town that has magic again. In the next scene, Grumpy talks to Snow and Emma about the Dwarves’ desire to go back home to the Enchanted Forest. Will we see people leave town? Could the Wishing Well’s portal still lead them back to Fairytale Land? If they can’t get back to Fairytale Land, will they try to leave Storybrooke in hopes of escaping from Regina? Crossing the borderline might an option sometime soon, if Rumple’s magic works.

Rumpy’s main focus is finding his son, Baelfire, but his plans are delayed when an old nemesis makes his presence known. The third scene takes place after Belle has been attacked by Captain Hook. Rumple is ready to make Hook pay for threatening his beloved Belle. In the clip, Belle asks about Rumple’s history with Hook and begs him not to resort to his former acts of revenge. How much has Rumpy changed? Will his love for Belle stop him from killing Hook? Maybe, but it won’t stop him from giving the pirate a well-deserved beating.

The slideshow teases a highly anticipated confrontation between Hook and Rumple. Judging by the images, it looks like Rumple gets the upper hand. Belle also demonstrates that she is pretty badass herself. If you look closely, Storybrooke’s new sweetheart is packing some serious heat. Perhaps she learned how to be a fighter after spending some time with Mulan in the past.

The final sneak peek and some of the photos show Mulan and Belle working together against a common threat. Does Belle find her inner warrior? Would she really pull the trigger on Hook? We’ll have to wait until Sunday to see.

“The Outsider” also marks the anxiously awaited arrival of Storybrooke’s newest “Mystery Man.” Creators, Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, are keeping quiet when it comes to details about Ethan Embry’s enigmatic character. In an interview with Collider, the dynamic duo teases:

HOROWITZ: He’s great, and you’ll see him soon. That’s pretty much all we want to say. But, we’re very happy to have him and we’re really pleased with his work.

KITSIS: This will help, his character’s name is “Mysterious Stranger.” He’ll be both mysterious and strange. He’ll get a name pretty soon, and we’re excited to tell that story, as well.

HOROWITZ: The less said about Ethan Embry, the better. In general.

Any predictions on who Embry’s “Mysterious Stranger” might be? Could he be a friend of Baelfire’s? How did he find out about Storybrooke? Does he know August or Neal Cassady?
