"Once Upon a Time" returns to television tonight. Celebuzz reported on Jan. 6 that actress Jennifer Morrison said that the show won't take a rest and brand new problems should immediately arise as the show returns from its mid-season break.
The mid-season finale featured a big return for Emma and Mary Margaret to Storybrooke from fairy tale land. While the show might start with a nice reunion with old friends, things will get shaky as previews have shown a character dies in this first episode back. That is only part of what will change with the show now that everyone is reunited in Storybrooke.
Morrison said that it is time to figure out who will lead the town. Regina, while becoming more helpful and sympathetic lately, has too much evil in her past to trust her with the leadership role again. According to Morrison, it is David that people turn to since he was their prince in fairy tale land.
Of course, this also brings up the question of who will serve as the town's sheriff, since Emma was sheriff when she left and David took over after that. There will also be the interesting aspects of David and Mary Margaret's relationship after all that has occurred, and how their relationship with their daughter Emma will develop.
There will also be some drama in the fact that David wants to get back to fairy tale land, but Mary sees how things are there now and isn't really interested in returning anytime soon.
Also on tap for "Once Upon a Time" is the arrival of Cora and Hook, who will tie into the show's return tonight as well.
"Once Upon a Time" airs on Sunday nights at 9 p.m. EST on ABC.
