On Feb. 25 Digital Spy reports that ABC is considering a "Once Upon a Time" spin off that would feature the Mad Hatter. Ideally, ABC would love to have Sebastian Stan, the man who originally played Jefferson/ Mad Hatter but he says he can't commit to doing a whole series.
While this could mean exciting things for the entertainment world, it doesn't mean very good things for ABC. A new lead is being sought after for the lead role that is currently in development. The spin off is under consideration for a 13 episode season.
There is a lot of competition among the fairytale world on television and it is likely that "Once Upon a Time" will be picked up for a third season. NBC is also developing a new pilot based on the "Alice in Wonderland" series by Lewis Carroll. NBC also airs "Grimm," a show loosely based off of "Grimm's Fairytales."
It sounds like family prime time television may be getting a little more friendly. Will you be watching?
